David Hanson - is a doctoral student working in the Institute for Interactive Arts and Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas His area of research investigates facial expression in robots using recent breakthroughs in elastomer material sciences to enact a sizable range of natural humanlike facial expressions. This branch of robotics will rise in relevance as humans and robots begin to have more face-to-face encounters in the coming years.

Student Organizations:

Student Game Developers Association (SGDA)
A community of artists and programmers working together to establish connections and advance interest in the field of computer game development.
• Meetings with student lecturers and speakers from the local game industry.
• Hosts semester LAN parties and game dev parties.
• Organizes large events featuring prominent game developers and game tournaments.
• Join continuing game development projects or find people to start your own!

Arts and Technology Student Association (ATSA)
A student organization designed to bring undergraduate and graduate students together to socialize and learn more about the ATEC program and opportunities in the job industry.

Student Animators Society (SAS)
A brand new organization whose goal it is to create animated shorts to be submitted at festivals such as Siggraph, as well as to volunteer and attend animation festivals and conferences.
